School Rules and Regulations

The school firmly believes that Discipline and Diligence are two key success factors in achieving Excellence as expounded in the School Motto.

All CCKPS pupils are expected to adhere to the School Rules and Regulatioins.

1. School Uniform and General Appearance

a) Pupils are to wear the prescribed school uniform. Modification to the uniform is not allowed

Boys/ Girls - Shirt/ blouse should not be oversized.
Girls - Skirt should be of knee length.
All pupils should be in full uniform on days when there is no PE lesson. Tee-shirt or
shirt should always be tucked in.

b) Hair : Boys - Short and neat. Beard, moustache or long side burns are not allowed.
Girls - Girls are encouraged to keep short hair. Long hair should be plaited.
- Hair should not fall below the eyebrows.
- Only black/ dark blue ribbons, hairbands and clips are allowed
No dyeing of hair is allowed and fringe should be above eyebrows.

c) Accessories : Only one pair of small ear-studs/ rings is allowed on the ear lobe. No other jewellery is allowed.

d) Shoes/ Socks :No track shoes or high-cut shoes are allowed on weekdays except for games / CCA and on Saturdays. At no time should one be in slippers or sandals without a valid reason. Only plain white socks/ school socks that cover up to the mid-calf are allowed. (please refer to the photos on Page 9).

2. The school prohibits all expensive items such as MP3 players, hand-held computer games etc. Mobile phones are not allowed in school unless there is a letter from the parents explaining the need. Every case will be examined on its own merit. Approval will be given by the Principal / Vice-Principal. The school cannot be held responsible in case of theft or loss of mobile phones through the carelessness of the pupils.

3. Serious Offences :
Pupils who have committed a serious offence
such as :

1. Truancy
2. Using Vulgar Language
3. Disrespectful to teachers
4. Vandalism
5. Smoking
6. Assault/Fighting
7. Bullying
8. Stealing/ Shoplifting
9. Extortion and ALL law breaking offences
10. Cheating (Your examination results will be forfeited)

Will be referred to the Principal with the following actions taken:

1. Pupil concerned will be given a "Fair " or "Poor" rating for Conduct*
2. The offence will be recorded into the School Offence Module.
3. Parents will be notified.
4. Pupil may be caned or expelled.
5. Counselling

Note : *A "Fair" or "Poor" rating for conduct will render the pupil ineligible for Edusave Awards and Eagles Award.

GENERAL DISCIPLINE

1. Be punctual for Silent Reading
• AM session : By 7.10 am
• PM session : By 12.30 pm
(except Mon 12.15 p.m. and Wed 1.30 p.m.)
2. Be neat and tidy in your work.
3. Hand in your homework on time.
4. No littering.
5. Once you enter the school either in the afternoon or morning, you cannot leave the school unless you have special permission from the Principal / Vice-Principal / Heads of Department./Operation Managers / Administration Managers/Teachers
6. Do not walk about in the carpark. Use the walkway for your own safety.
7. Do not cycle to school.
8. Take care of school property.
9. Be honest and return any items found to the General Office.
10. Be courteous at all times.
• Greet ALL teachers, non-teaching staff and visitors.
• Say "thank you", "excuse me" or "sorry"
11. Respect prefects and monitors.
12. When moving as a class,
•Walk in twos
• Keep close. Do not leave gaps.
• Do not talk or play along the way to your intended venue
13. Use the EXIT pass when you leave the classroom.
• Put it on.
• Never leave the class when there is no teacher in the class.
14. At the canteen,
• Queue up for your food
• No food is allowed to be consumed outside the canteen or brought into the classrooms or special rooms.
• Food should be consumed while seated.
• Return all empty bowls and cups to the proper receptacles.
• Clean up your area by scooping up all the inedible stuff you put on the table
• Don't play or run in the canteen.
• It is very rude to shout or talk loudly in the canteen.
15. Before / After school hours,
• Go straight to the canteen / study corners / home. Do not loiter.
• Always be in school uniform and shoes when you are in the school.
